Firstly, I'd like to say a huge THANK YOU to macramotiv for making this tutorial. It is so very appreciated!!

Now a few details that I figured out on my own that may help someone who comes after me:

1) The knots you will be using are called diagonal half hitch knots and diagonal double half hitch knots. If you're having a hard time getting the technique down, Google that.

2) As suggested, start out using two different colours: one for the long strings and one for the short strings. The short strings are your working threads; these will stay straight and taut while you use the longer string to make the diagonal half hitch knots. The knot should not flip. By "flip" I mean to reiterate that the short string should always be taut. If the long string is taut, you have flipped the knot.

Also, the long string should always cross behind your working string when starting your half hitch knots.

3) The knot that "closes" each link of the chain should be made with both short strings, so each side of the chain must end with the working (short) string in the middle.

Thank you again, macramotiv!

Update:
I found the bug which caused the problem with loading all the thumbnail images. I managed to fix it.
From now all the images are shown in each photo tutorial, and you can click on them to see them in larger scale, and there you can use the left/right arrows to see the previous/next images.
Happy knotting! :)

In reply to <a href="https://www.macramotiv.com/tutorial-beginners-bracelet/#comment-173">Anonymous</a>.

Yeah, sometimes it is not easy and I always recommend to look at the pictures from the first one to the end many times before starting the knotting.
I am happy you finally managed to finish your piece and you even made an effort to put your creativeness into it. :)
Thanks for your response, I will check the back and forward buttons and find out something to fix it.
Best wishes! :)

This was extremely difficult and frustrating for me to learn. I had to constantly undo and redo knots, then I threw the partial bracelet away, tried making a new one, but kept on failing at that, but finally I learned. The instructions/photos could have been more detailed and numbered, and the back and forward arrows didn't work all the time, then I would accidentally click on the ad which would take me to a new website, and then I'd go back, but would lose my place because the photos aren't numbered. I'm pleased with the way the bracelet turned out. I added beads with fishing line sewn through the center, but the beads don't stay in place, the circles and ovals are sometimes too tight or looser than the others. I added a loop made of forward backward half hitches at one end with beads going over the square knots "neck" below it, and put a beaded "neck" on the tail end, followed by a quadruple figure 8 knot then made two two-strand tails with a knot, bead, knot on each to finish the tail. I put a jump ring above the figure 8 knot with a silver hook and charm. I used light colored hemp and turquoise and silver beads.
